The 2024 calendar depicted the western zodiac signs. I chose to illustrate each zodiac sign with a mythological tale that highlighted an animal associated with the sign. Unlike the Chinese Zodiac which is comprised of all animals, the Western Zodiac has some human and other non animal symbols, includingthe sign Libra with the scales of Justice. For each picture I used the same square format as the Chinese Zodiac illustrations. I had the astrological symbol in the upper corner of the drawing where I had the Chinese animal symbol. Unlike the Chinese Zodiac where I only had one illustration per year this required twelve illustrations for one year. Consequently I originally planned this theme for the 2023 calendar but I ran out of time and did the Seasons’ Greetings instead. So having 2 years to complete I finally was able to finish the project for the 2024 calendar. I repurposed these illustrations along with my Chinese Zodiac art for a card game that I had printed.
